CareCo opens new headquarters
Mobility retailer CareCo has officially opened its new headquarters following a 21-month redevelopment project.
The newly renovated building, located in Braintree, Essex, brings together all teams under one roof in a bright, modern space designed to support staff wellbeing and collaboration.
The investment includes open-plan offices with floor-to-ceiling glass, an atrium café, quiet zones, and a fully equipped gym. Sustainable features include a solar PV system capable of producing up to a gigawatt of electricity and a smart Building Management System that controls lighting and temperature across the site.
John Pryor, director at CareCo, said:
“This project was about creating an environment where our people can thrive. We’ve balanced practicality with inspiration, and sustainability with comfort, to reflect who we are as a business.”
Jane Bunting, head of HR, added:
“The new HQ is a tangible example of our commitment to putting people first. It supports wellbeing, collaboration, and flexibility - all core to our HR strategy and employer brand.”
Led by Rose Builders, the extensive refurbishment involved over 30 contractors from across the UK and Ireland, 20 design professionals, and more than 248,000 man hours of work. Every detail, from the steel frame to the final coat of paint, was planned to create an environment that reflects CareCo’s values of care, connection, and innovation. Tom Rose, Commercial Director at Rose Builders, commented:

From the outset, our goal was to deliver a building that not only functioned well but also inspired the people working in it every day. The collaboration between our team, CareCo, and the design professionals was exceptional. Every trade brought their best, and the result speaks for itself. It’s proof that commercial construction can have just as much passion, precision, and creativity as any residential project.”
Founder and innovation director Will Harrison said staff reaction has been “overwhelmingly positive”, with early signs of greater collaboration.
“There’s a real buzz about what this new space will help us achieve. We design our showrooms to break the mould - and our new head office does the same, looking to the future while staying true to the roots and values of our business.”
