Braintree Village has reported a strong trading performance for the 2025 Golden Quarter, with both sales and footfall significantly exceeding national retail benchmarks.

The open‑air outlet shopping destination, home to 70 high‑street and designer brands including Coach, Kate Spade and Nike, experienced sustained consumer demand throughout the final months of the year. Total footfall increased by 12.8% year‑on‑year, far outperforming the British Retail Consortium (BRC) national benchmark, which recorded a 0.3% decline over the same period.

This uplift in visitor numbers translated into a 13.3% year‑on‑year increase in sales, compared with a national benchmark of -0.2%, reflecting strong festive momentum and the continued appeal of the centre’s retail and leisure offer.

Josef O’Sullivan, Centre Director at Braintree Village, said:

“As a premier retail and leisure destination, Braintree Village continues to evolve to offer guests a diverse mix of fashion, beauty and dining options. By introducing global brands such as Coach, Crocs and GUESS to our lineup, we have created a vibrant environment that has driven sales and footfall significantly ahead of the national average, leading to record‑breaking performances over the Golden Quarter. We’re excited to build on this success throughout 2026 and beyond.”

Braintree Village’s latest results underline its strong position within the outlet retail market and reinforce its reputation as a leading destination for shoppers seeking choice, value and experience.
